The purpose is to determine the establishment, working procedures, and principles of the Health Sciences Non-Interventional Research Ethics Committee, established within Balıkesir University. The Committee will review, opin, monitor, terminate, and make decisions on non-interventional research conducted in the field of health sciences at Balıkesir University and at institutions that do not have an ethics committee upon application. This committee will review, opin, monitor, terminate, and make decisions, and, if necessary, establish new principles and rules, all non-interventional research conducted at Balıkesir University and in institutions that do not have an ethics committee.

The scope includes legislation related to the protection of the rights of patients and volunteers in research conducted within or outside Balıkesir University, the rules and fundamental principles to be followed among researchers, the methods and principles related to the review, evaluation, decision-making, and monitoring of ethical research permit and approval applications, the Ethics Committee's establishment and working principles, and the relevant institutional and individual responsibilities and obligations.
